Community and Economic Development Director Paul Melcher represented the Town of Oro Valley at the ProBaja Binational Delegation Dinner, hosted by the Chamber of Southern Arizona, to advance cross-border economic collaboration between Southern Arizona and Baja California.
The event brought together leaders from private industry, academia, and state and regional government to strengthen trade, investment, and long-term economic partnerships across the U.S.–Mexico border region. ProBaja Trade and Investment focus on building strategic connections that support regional competitiveness and shared economic growth.
Participation in the delegation dinner provided an opportunity for Oro Valley to engage in high-level discussions around cross-border supply chains, advanced manufacturing, workforce collaboration, and emerging industry sectors. The event also reinforced the Town’s commitment to fostering relationships that expand market access and attract investment opportunities aligned with regional strengths.
As Southern Arizona continues to deepen its economic ties with Baja California, binational collaboration plays an increasingly important role in supporting advanced manufacturing, technology, logistics, and innovation-driven industries. Engagement in forums such as ProBaja allows Oro Valley to remain connected to broader regional economic strategies while advocating for local business interests.
