Town of Oro Valley leadership & Economic Development staff participated in Arizona Photonics Days 2026, further reinforcing the Town’s engagement in the state’s optics and photonics industry.
Community and Economic Development Director Paul Melcher, Mayor Joe Winfield, and Economic Development Programs Manager Sarah Denman attended the event through the Town’s partnership with Optics Valley, a photonics-focused initiative of the Arizona Technology Council.
During the event, Director Melcher delivered a presentation highlighting Oro Valley’s role in Arizona’s optics ecosystem, including its industry anchors, workforce alignment, and strategic approach to supporting advanced manufacturing and innovation.
Participation in Arizona Photonics Days reflects ongoing collaboration with state and regional partners to strengthen Arizona’s competitive position in optics and photonics industries.
