Oro Valley’s year-round sunny weather means plenty of time enjoying your favorite outdoor activity. The Town boasts several public and private golf courses and access to popular mountain biking and hiking trails. Oro Valley is set against the backdrop of the dramatic Santa Catalina Mountains, which means whatever your activity, you’ll have a great view!  

Hiking and Oro Valley Trails    

Oro Valley has a dynamic trail system for hikers, bikers, runners, equestrians and other users. It is comprised of several types of surfaces. Hikers and trail runners can explore more than 44 miles of natural trails, in addition to the trail system at Catalina State Park. Those who prefer paved trails for cycling or pushing the stroller will enjoy 22 miles of multi-use paths, separate from streets.  

Parks  

Oro Valley has two dog parks and five recreational parks including playgrounds and facilities for parties, picnics, tennis, basketball, softball, soccer, archery, pickleball, racquetball, lacrosse, walking trails and a premier aquatics facility

Oro Valley Aquatic Center  

Southern Arizona’s premier, competition-level facility includes an Olympic-sized pool, recreation pool, diving boards, water slide, a splash pad for children and other family-friendly amenities.  

Cycling / Mountain Biking 

A premiere training location for bicyclists and multi-sport athletes, Oro Valley features 79 miles of bikeable streets and pathways. Of these, 33 miles are signed bike routes, 24 miles are bikeable paved shoulders and 22 miles are shared use paths. Mountain bikers and gravel grinders can also access a dynamic network of mountain bike trails via the Big Wash Trail Head. 

The Town of Oro Valley was named as a "Gold" level Bicycle Friendly Business by the League of American Bicyclists in November 2017 for its amenities, facilities and programs offered to its employees and visitors.
